I had this dream on 9/11/14:
I was walking through a neighborhood that was barricaded because of a storm. It was not snow but a sand storm. Whirlwinds made it difficult to see as it stirred up the sand.
Piles of sand covered the streets and sidewalks. I barely could walk through it. However, I started to make my way through when I noticed a man walking towards my direction. As he drew near, we had to squeeze by one another on the sidewalk yet no words were spoken. As I continued to walk, there was a young woman ahead of me walking with her head down. Both were Afro-Americans. They both looked beaten emotionally.
There were rows of connecting small houses in this neighborhood. I began to walk through them as if there were no walls separating them. What magnified was the décor each home had. The first house was decorated solely in black and white (furniture, accessories and walls). The second home was filled with many artifacts of African heritage. The third house had unique African sculptures of animals. As I was going through each of these homes, the owners sat motionless and emotionless on a chair as I went unnoticed. I then realized that this was an Afro-American community.
I was about to enter another home when I saw a police van outside the house. There was a Caucasian female and male police officer standing guard. The male officer stood by the van and the female was by the door ready to make an arrest. I approached the female officer asking her what is going on. She did not reply yet in her eyes she was beckoning for me to just go as if trouble will find her and myself if I did not leave. At that moment another female cop appeared behind her and gave me a very strong look as to say “mind your business” and she signaled for me to leave. I told the first female cop that I will let her go so she can do her job. I didn't want to stir problems for her. Obviously she was not condoning the arrest. There were a few Afro-American girls that were being taken out of this house and harshly commanded by the male officer to get into the van. He shoved a few in and they were hauled away.
(End of dream)
I remember writing the dream in my
journal that morning of 9/11/15 and wrote a simple prayer:
“Lord, please turn away the evil that
has come upon the Afro-American community. Let there be peace and
unity. Help us. In Jesus' Name.”
It's no coincidence that this dream was
given to me on 9/11 – a day of remembrance when America was hit by
an act of terrorism back in 2001. Today, we see yet another act of
terror.
Since the Ferguson incident there has
been a rise of police brutality and it was the beginning towards a
new level of terrorism: RACISM.
There has been a rise of countless
deaths through the hands of those who are to serve and protect the
people of the land. Their acts of violence on the black community
has created racial tensions. Hate is the fruit being produced among
the people and many are eating of it. The bible says in 1 John 3:15
“Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer...”
Therefore, we cannot focus solely on the one who physically murders
but also those who hate and are propagating the enemy's agenda.
Written in 1 John 2:11 it states “But
anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks
around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going,
because the darkness has blinded them.
The enemy's ploy through propagating
hate is to ultimately blind the people by the whirlwind of violence.
He releases his demons
through the people to do his bidding. However, there is an army of
Angels awaiting to do God's bidding as they are positioned to do
according to Psalms 103:20:
“Praise the LORD, you his angels, you
mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word”
They are awaiting for US to speak God's
word into this situation of racism. Words of life and not death. We
must not participate in the conversations that will magnify what is
transpiring. Our opinions will not do much but possibly add to the
problem. However our prayers, words of declaration, decreeing God's
Word over a people, city and nation has the potential for a solution!
Despite how others are perceiving all of this, there is something greater that is transpiring. I'm not here to debate this or magnify racism. However, I am to share what the LORD has shown me for the purpose of awareness of the enemy's ploy to bring terrorism through racial tension as done in the past. We know that indifference remained between races since then. However, it is being stirred up once again in a magnitude that has the potential to bring destruction and ultimately death.
Although this act of terrorism is being
unleashed by the hands of man we must never lose sight that “we are
not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil ruler
and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this
dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
(Ephesians 6:12)
How we choose to respond determines the
outcome. Will we mind our own business? Will we remain silent? Will we become part of the problem by spreading the hate
or will we become a conduit for the solution? A choice we all have
to make despite how we perceive the situation.
Let us seek God for guidance.
God bless us......
