As I sat pondering on certain things that took place last year in ministry, a particular person came to mind. I was captivated by their personality, ability to express themselves in boldness, the flow of their prophetic gift and how others as well as myself were drawn to them. Yet, I was always troubled in my spirit and couldn't grasp why. Was I jealous? envious? However, time proved what discernment was revealing then.
"Do NOT mistake charisma for anointing" I heard the LORD say. "Many are being led away by the sound."
I then heard the words "Pied Piper". Therefore, I searched on the internet and came across the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. (click on link to further read in details and grasp the revelation).
The Pied Piper of Hamelin (German: Rattenfänger von Hameln also known as the Pan Piper, the Rat-Catcher of Hamelin) is the subject of a legend concerning the departure or death of a great number of children from the town of Hamelin (Hameln), Lower Saxony, Germany, in the Middle Ages. The earliest references describe a piper, dressed in multicolored ("pied") clothing, leading the children away from the town never to return. In the 16th century the story was expanded into a full narrative, in which the piper is a rat-catcher hired by the town to lure rats away with his magic pipe. When the citizenry refuses to pay for this service, he retaliates by turning his power that he put in his instrument on their children, leading them away as he had the rats.

I will only share what Holy Spirit desires for me to release so as to awaken those being lead by the sound of the piper! Yes, Holy Spirit speaks of how many of God's children are being led by the sound of charisma.
Take notice that the Pied Piper was a symbolic figure of death yet he wore a colorful coat, attracting the children visually. He lured them by the SOUND that came through his magic pipe (musical instrument) in retaliation towards the mayor of the city of Hamelin. The same "power" he had put in his instrument that lead the rats away, he put on their children.
However, metaphorically Merriam Webster defines the Pied Piper as:
- a charismatic person who attracts followers
- one that offers strong but delusive enticement
- a leader who makes irresponsible promises
You can only imagine how awestruck I was to read this definition. The first word that jumped at me was "charismatic". It was exactly what Holy Spirit was revealing and confirming.
Today many are being mesmerized by the sound man is releasing because it soothes the flesh yet they are being lulled to sleep. Their "colorful" coat distracts many to following what's visually appealing leading them astray from seeing truth and walking IN truth. They walk in a form of godliness yet lacking the power thereof. Their smooth words filled with cliche's and swag gets the crowd moving, but leads them no further than their pews. From these stay away for they are lovers of themselves seeking a following. (Read 2 Timothy 3)
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." 2 Timothy 4:3
Remember it's the anointing that breaks the yoke, whereas charisma cannot!!!!!
