Living on the Outside: Dying in the Inside

Today you have many women who are so heavily burdened hiding behind smiles.  Yes, they seem to have it all together on the outside but inside they are dying.  They live each day creating false hopes in order to survive.  They tired themselves out with work, exercising,  activities, shopping and ministry - just to keep them from thinking, feeling and being alone with themselves.

There is this emptiness they cannot fill.  Tears saturate their pillows night after night as they cry out "I can't do this anymore!"  Their strength is spent and cannot lift their eyes up to Jesus because their burdens are so heavy.

For instance, there was a woman who was sitting in the synagogue (church) one Sabbath day.   She was so overcome with her burdens that she could not lift herself up to see that she was in the presence of the ONE who is able to heal her and make her whole.

In Luke 13:10-11 it reads "Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.  And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. "

The word "infirmity" is defined as a physical or mental weakness.  Although we do not know exactly what type of infirmity this woman had we do know that her condition whether physical or mental has caused her to become bent over in distress that she could not raise herself up.

Have you ever been in church service and wonder how anyone can NOT possibly lift their hands up to the LORD during worship? I have and I admit that in doing so I entered into judgment without truly knowing the reasons why they weren't able to just like this woman couldn't.

In verse 12 it goes on to say "But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity."

BUT WHEN JESUS SAW HER!! Did you catch that? JESUS SAW HER! She couldn't see Him but He saw her!

Those around her may have judge her, saw past her and her condition but Jesus saw her!   He called her to Him and healed her because what others could not see and hear, He did.  He saw her anguish and heard her inner cry of desperateness!

"He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God."   (v. 13)

Immediately!!

He touched her and she was made straight immediately and she was able now to glorify God!!!  The stronghold was broken when she received His touch!! She was healed and was rejoicing!

Those around you may not see your condition not even those closest to you but JESUS sees the anguish hidden behind your smile and the same way He called out to her, He is calling out to you at this very moment!  He desires to loose you from depression, oppression, worthlessness, hopelessness, loneliness, insignificance, sickness, and bring you into a place of healing, joy and abundant living.

But remember, although He called her she needed to respond to His call!!!

As He calls you, come running to Him and receive the touch of His hand and be straighten up - glorifying His Name with JOY!!! True genuine joy! No more hiding behind a fake smile but now you will have an inner joy that will radiate!!

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. ~ John 10:10

P.S:  Let us be mindful of others by reaching out to them.  Just because they are smiling doesn't mean that they are not going through.

Blessings.....
