"Now nothing is holding me back from You, Redeemer of my soul..."
Nothing held Jesus back from the cross. He shed His precious blood as a living sacrifice so that we may be reconciled to the Father because sin had separated us. Nothing holds Him back from loving, forgiving and sustaining us! NOTHING!
Now, nothing should hold us back from Him who redeemed our soul. The enemy no longer enslaves us because the veil has been torn and we now have full access to our Father. However, are we utilizing this privilege.
Unfortunately, distractions, passivity. busyness and matters of the heart has kept us astray. Yes, we do the "churchy" things, have bumper stickers declaring our religion, shiny crosses hanging from our necks and speak "christianeeze". We even do ministry!! However.......
"The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught."
Can we honestly say that we are giving Him what He is worthy of: our full attention, love, adoration, worship, praise, obedience, reverence, communion, faithfulness.....OUR LIVES!
Have we sacrificed relationship (intimacy) for religion? Have we become complacent and content with the assurance of our salvation because we uttered the sinner's prayer at one point in our lives? Are we trying to operate from the residue of the fire we once had?
Whatever has held YOU back from offering yourself as a living sacrifice to Him, lay it at the foot of the cross. Repent, re-establish intimacy, renew your mind and be refilled in His Glory....
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.…Set aside time today and recommit yourself to the LORD. Allow Him to deal with the issues of your heart, the distractions, busyness, and passivity that has come to keep you from the fullness of Christ in your life.
Father, In the precious Name of Jesus, touch every person who has come in contact with this message. You know what has kept them astray from You. Transition them back from religion to relationship. Reignite the fire within them that will cause their hearts to burn for You and Your will! Remove every barrier that hinders them and release what they stand in needing on this day. Amen.
