Mother's did not come with an instruction manual, yet they have an inner instinct. I remember as a child I embraced my dolls and care for them gently. I knew how to hold them; change their diapers, bathe and dress them. I spoke to them lovingly and gave them so much love. I didn't know how to be a mom at that age, but the instincts were there.
At 14 yrs of age I didn't know how to be a mom either but I did the best I knew how.
As a young mom I made my fair share of mistakes in raising my children. I was 21 years old when I had all three. There were many moments of tears and regrets. I wished I could have done more and give them more of me. Yet I have to say that I am truly blessed. My children are grown and have never held against me the errors I committed. Although they had every right - their love covered the multitude of my sins. Love never fails......
Mothers have a great influence on their children and I am thankful to God that although I was not a great example in the beginning He transformed my life so that I may become one. I no longer live with regrets but with thanksgiving to God for turning the bad into good! I love my children for who they are and for loving me unconditionally.
I share this because there are mother's who live with regrets because they may have not been able to raise their children as they desired. They fear their children will blame them and stop loving them. They worry about the consequence their children will pay because of their mistakes. And although there might be some anger present, a love for a mother is never diminished completely from their hearts. So be encouraged that we serve a Mighty God that is able to restore and make all things new. He has forgiven us and we need to learn to forgive ourselves.
If I as a mother who committed countless mistake was able to experience this scripture:
Her children rise up and call her blessed ~ Proverbs 31:28 - YOU WILL TOO!
Be blessed...
